How to Start an Analysis

Article summary

You have several options to initiate an analysis of any or all of your projects. Some options allow these analyses to be performed automatically, while others give you the ability to start an analysis at any time you like.

Automatically:

  • Automatic analyses can be performed once daily by having monitoring enabled on the project. Monitoring your projects at least once per day is recommended to ensure that no new vulnerabilities have been reported and published for projects that may previously have passed a vulnerability scan. Monitoring can be enabled via the Project Settings page.
  • By integrating Ion Channel with your CI/CD process.

Manually:

  • Via the Ion Channel UI:
    • On the Project List page:
      • Individually:
        1. Click the ellipsisto the right of the project that you would like to analyze.
        2. Select New Analysis.
      • In Bulk:
        1. Check the box(es) to the right of the project(s) that you would like to analyze.
        2. Click on the Actions button located above the list of projects.
        3. Select Analyze.
    • On the Project Analysis Dashboard or Analysis History pages:
      1. Click on the wrench iconnear the upper-right corner.
      2. Select New Analysis.
  • With the Ionize Analyze command.

The analysis will be ready within a few seconds to a few minutes depending on the project. The results can be viewed by selecting the project from the Project List or Analysis History pages. If the analysis has not yet been completed, you can request new results by refreshing the browser.
