Step 2: Create Your First Project

An Ion Channel project is used to assess and analyze vulnerabilities and other risk factors of code managed in software artifacts and software configuration managers like Git and SVN. A project must first be created within Ion Channel for an analysis to be performed.

Create a project:

  1. Log in to the Ion Channel console.
  2. From the hamburger menuin the upper right corner, select Add a Project.
     -or-
    From the Projects page, select the + icon located to the right of the team drop-down menu.
  3. Ensure the correct team is selected in the team drop-down menu on the right-hand side.
  4. Enter data in all required fields in the project details section. You can find details and definitions of each field here.
  5. For now, it is recommended to keep the Active box checked. Unchecking this box will create the project in an archived state. The project can be archived on the Settings page at any time.
  6. Keep the Monitor box checked if you would like the project to be analyzed automatically once per day. Otherwise, uncheck this box to disable automatic monitoring.
  7. Select the Source Type of your project.
  8. Enter data for all required fields in the Source Information section. You can find details and definitions for each of these fields here.
  9. Click the Save button to complete the creation of your project.
